The Department of History at Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya has undergone significant development since its inception. Established in 2007, the department initially offered courses with the assistance of part-time teachers, Ms. Saheli Chaki and Md. Masidur Miah. Their dedication laid the foundation for the department’s growth and popularity among students.

In 2009, the department expanded its academic offerings by introducing the History Honours course, initially accommodating 80 students. This period also saw the arrival of new faculty members, Sri Litan Biswas and Nasiruddin Ahamed, who played pivotal roles in the early years of the Honours program. Their contributions were instrumental in establishing a robust curriculum and fostering a rigorous academic environment.

As the department continued to evolve, Sri Biplab Maitra joined as a part-time teacher in 2010, following the departure of Sri Litan Biswas and Nasiruddin Ahamed. His involvement provided continuity and stability during a period of transition.

The department’s growth trajectory took another positive turn in 2017 when Sri Rabi Tigga joined as an Assistant Professor. His appointment marked a significant milestone, enhancing the academic leadership within the department and contributing to the quality of education .

Today, the Department of History at Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya is offering 80 seats for the History Honours course.
