Code of Conduct for Teaching Staff
This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behaviour of all Teaching Staff (TS) at Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya in their interactions with students, colleagues and the wider college community. By upholding these principles, we foster a respectful, inclusive and productive learning environment for all.

Code of Conduct Policy for Non-Teaching Staff (NTS)
▪ Non-teaching Staff (NTS) members are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with students. This includes being courteous, respectful and attentive to students’ needs.
▪ NTS members must uphold strict confidentiality regarding student information, records, and personal matters. Information shared by students should only be disclosed if found necessary for official purposes.
▪ Each student should be treated fairly and without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or any other characteristics. NTS members should strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
▪ In cases of conflict or disagreement with students, NTS members should strive to resolve issues patiently and professionally. Respectful communication and mediation should be utilized to address concerns and find mutually acceptable solutions.
▪ NTS members must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students at all times. Personal relationships with students, that may compromise professionalism or create conflicts of interest, are strictly prohibited.
▪ Staff members are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students within the college premises. Any concerns regarding student safety should be reported promptly to the appropriate authorities.
▪ NTS members are required to adhere to all college policies and procedures, including those related to conduct, safety, and security. Ignorance of policies is not an excuse for non-compliance.
▪ NTS members are encouraged to engage in continuous professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge. This may include attending workshops, seminars or training sessions relevant to their role.
▪ Any violations of this code of conduct observed by NTS members should be reported to the appropriate authorities or supervisors promptly. Failure to report misconduct may result in disciplinary action.

Code of Conduct for Students
Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning community where all students can thrive. This Code of Conduct outlines the basic expectations for student behaviour, promoting respect, responsibility, and academic integrity. By adhering to these principles, you contribute to a positive and productive learning environment for yourself and your peers.
▪ Carry your ID Card: Always have your College Identity Card with you while on campus. It’s your proof of identity and access key to institutional resources.
▪ Attend your classes: Regular attendance is crucial. Aim for at least 75% attendance in every subject to be eligible for exams. This is non-negotiable, except under exceptional circumstances.
▪ Be on time: Follow the class schedule and timetable. Late-comers might miss class and attendance.
▪ Protect property: Theft or damage of any kind, on or off campus, is strictly against the rules and may invite disciplinary or legal action against the person responsible for such act. Respect everyone’s belongings.
▪ Be mindful of your actions: Damaging College property or personal belongings will result in disciplinary and/or legal action.
▪ Stay focussed in class: Switch-off your mobile phone(s) during class hours. It can be distracting for you and others.
▪ No loitering or gambling: Utilise your free time in games or at the library. Playing cards or hanging around aimlessly inside the campus is not allowed.
▪ Zero tolerance for ragging: This includes any type of indecent/unwelcome/bullying behaviour. It’s unacceptable and will have serious consequences, both disciplinary and legal. Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya has a strict Zero-tolerance Policy towards ragging.
▪ Zero tolerance for sexual harassment: Everyone has the right to a respectful and a safe life. Sexual harassment, in whatsoever form, is strictly prohibited and will result in strict legal and disciplinary action. Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya has a strict Zero-tolerance Policy towards sexual harassment.
▪ Equality for all: Discrimination based on caste, gender, race, etc. or any personal characteristic is strictly prohibited. Treat everyone with respect and dignity.
▪ Possession, consumption, or distribution of alcohol or any form of intoxicating substances in college premises is strictly prohibited.
▪ This is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is a known health hazard and has a proven record of causing cancer and other respiratory ailments. Smoking or possession of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hookah, e-cigarettes, ‘beedi’ and all other tobacco products is strictly prohibited. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and grounds of the college.
▪ Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya is a plastic free zone. All types of plastic products (carry bags, chips packets, plastic bottles, wrappers, etc.) are prohibited here.
▪ Trees are an integral part of Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya. So, damaging trees/plantation in any way or breaking the branches is strictly prohibited.
▪ Wastage of water is strictly prohibited.
▪ Breaking these rules can lead to disciplinary action, including:
o Warnings/ show causes
o Fines and/or Suspension
o Expulsion
o Legal action
