About Teachers Council:
The Teachers' Council of Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya is a collective body that advocates for the professional interests and service conditions of the teaching staff. It is responsible for ensuring quality assurance in teaching, learning, and evaluation. While acting in the best interest of teachers, the council also works to maintain and improve the standards of the teaching profession. Its core aim is to promote safe, high-quality leadership and effective teaching for all stakeholders of the college. Additionally, the council oversees the planning and implementation of various academic and extracurricular activities, including admissions, examinations, sports, cultural events, and research initiatives.
Structure:
All permanent teachers are members of the Teachers’ Council, with the Principal serving as its Ex-officio President. The council forms various committees composed of its members, and meetings are chaired by the Principal. The Secretary, an elected teacher, holds office for a one-year term and convenes regular meetings to discuss relevant issues.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
Ensure high standards in teaching, learning, and evaluation.
Advisory Role:
Advise the Principal on academic matters, student welfare, timetables, examinations, and improvements in teaching resources such as libraries and laboratories.
Planning Oversight:
Monitor the design and implementation of academic plans, including admissions, exams, sports, cultural events, and research activities.
Committee Formation:
Create various committees to address specific academic and extracurricular concerns.
Meeting Guidelines:
- At least two meetings must be held per academic year.
- The Secretary, or in their absence, the Principal, must provide a minimum of three days' notice before any meeting.
- All decisions are made within the council meetings, with no provision for referring unresolved matters to the University.
Decision-Making:
Decisions are made by majority vote. If the Chairman disagrees with the majority, the decision remains final without reconsideration or external referral.
